About me

My name is Tonje Sivertsen, and I am a hobby photographer based in Oslo with a passion for street photography.

I have always been a street roamer, but when I first picked up a camera in 2016, photography was just a natural extension.

I enjoy most kinds of photography, but I favour street photography because it can be done spontaneously, everywhere, and as an integrated part of daily life. I like the idea that every situation is a potential photo opportunity.

When I am roaming the streets with my my camera, my approach is that I am on an adventure, and I am filled with a sense of being alive and in the zone.

I don´t anticipate any particular photo when I go out;  I want to be surprised in the same way I want my viewers to be. But at most times I am drawn towards the surprising, the interesting, the absurd and the witty. I am always on the lookout for «The Decisive Moment» - that moment when when all the elements come together and is dissolved in the next, never to be reemerged.

I feel like an «all over the place» street photographer, because I don´t want to restrict myself to any narrow niche. I shoot everything I find visually interesting; sometimes it`s a witty juxtaposition, and sometimes it´s just a scene that I find visually pleasing.
